According to Della Corte, due to the large painting in the peristyle, this house was normally known as “of Adone ferito”.
However, it was also attributed to M. (…?) Asellinus, because of the finding of a seal of his servant or procurator Onomastus –

According to Pagano and Prisciandaro, found in the soil excavated here in November 1835, was a mark with an inscription –
Onomasti
M(arci) Asellini    [CIL X 8058, 61]
This is now in Naples Archaeological Museum, inventory number MN 4757.
