According to Jashemski, part of the floor on the north, east and west portico of the peristyle of I.8.2, was destroyed by bombing in 1943.
A gutter at the edge of the garden collected rainwater which was stored in the large cistern under the peristyle.
The water appeared to have been used in the adjacent dye-shop (I.8.19) at the rear.
