VI.2.20 Pompeii. September 2005. Looking west towards rooms on north side of open area. According to Jashemski, Fiorelli said this site, excavated 1810-11, may have been a hospitium. The entrance from the street led into an open area, which may possibly have had some plantings. A covered passageway on the right of the open area gave access to a large triclinium and two smaller rooms on the north side. See Jashemski, W. F., 1993. The Gardens of Pompeii, Volume II: Appendices. New York: Caratzas. (p.122)

VI.2.20 Pompeii. May 2011. Looking north in room on right of entrance doorway. According to Fiorelli, near to the entrance doorway was the kitchen and “la sella” and then an open area with, on the right, the shelter/roof that covered the access of a large triclinium and of two neighbouring rooms, not far off from which were two more rooms used as either dormitories or dining areas.
