According to Mau in BdI –
Note that neither of the shops (VIII.7.3 or 4) have the usual podium, and that the rear rooms are rather spacious. In the middle of the second shop (VIII.7.4) stands a graceful marble table, the support of which is adorned with a bust of a Satyr wearing a fawn’s skin (nebris). Evidently these are not really shops, but taverns, and locations of a caupona.
(Si noti, che
in nessuna delle botteghe si trova il solito podio, e che le retrobotteghe sono
stanze piuttosto spaziose. In mezza alla seconda bottega sta un grazioso
tavolino di marmo, il cui sostegno era adorno d’un busto di Satiro colla
nebris. Evidentemente queste non sono propriamente botteghe, ma taverne, locali
d’una caupona.)
